Dr. Hayden Childs feels blessed to have had the opportunity to return to Samson, where he grew up, and work among friends and family, as his father did. Working with his brother and sister is an extra blessing!

A graduate of Samson High School, the University of Alabama, and the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. Childs completed a residency of internal medicine at the University of South Alabama. He also took extra rotations in other fields and worked with his father when possible to prepare him for primary care.

After serving 4 years in the Air Force, Dr. Childs returned to South Alabama for additional training in Pulmonary Medicine, which he practiced in Mobile for over 10 years before taking the position of VP of Medical Services at Providence Hospital. After 10 years there, and a year in Birmingham with the national office of a hospice corporation, Dr. Childs returned to Samson to establish this general medical practice.
